How Did We Get Here???

The WHY behind it all....A God-fearing, ambitious women simply navigating life between two gardens, living every moment to the fullest and indulging in spontaneous adventures along the way….

People that know me best may describe me as smiley, quiet until witty, a thinker, heavy processor with a creative mindset, family-oriented, always remains close to her roots, a homebody that thrives in routine, finds comfort in seclusion, someone who flourishes in the rays of the sun, enjoys a good body of water, and is compassionate to anyone and everyone who crosses her path.

Now, nowhere in there did you hear “world traveler”, “explorer”, “spontaneous”, “writer”, “blogger”….but here we are.

I would have internally thought someone was crazy telling me that one day I’d be sitting outdoors, enjoy the hot summer sun, listening to waves crash against the shore, and writing to YOU…people..no longer just the lined paper in my notebook. In the discomfort and uncertainty of something “new”, there’s an abundance of peace that’s hard to describe. There’s going to be unknowns….pending how we look at it, that can also be the beauty too. Trusting the Lord to lead the path is so much more fulfilling then keeping something to myself that’s meant to be exposed. So, this is being obedient and facing the fear of uncertainty because God knows and I don’t have to.

Seeing what new ventures are on the horizon may be a surprise to some but a “sounds like Catelyn” to others. Over these last several years, I’ve embarked on a journey to live FULLY and JOYFULLY!! Don’t get me wrong, that still means that I will be in bed by 9:00p some nights with a book in hand…however, some nights I may be off in the middle of nowhere soaking in the absolutely beauty of God’s work.

This “Called to Mission” project has been in the works for quite some time…very slowly and out of the norm idea though; wasn’t entirely sure what God’s plan was for it. Until, “missions” began to be a constant thought around me – meeting missionaries, hearing stories, gaining more knowledge on what exactly is “mission work”. This sparked my desire to put a bit more intentional time in pulling everything together. Shortly thereafter, conversation within the lady’s ministry at my local church approached me about joining a short-term international mission trip….aaand, I guess you could stay that’s where it all began to flow.

So, HELLO!!

My name is Catelyn. This is where it all collides; apparently "beginner writer", "spontaneous nature", and "explorer" can now be added on the list to describe me!

I’m overjoyed to see how God continues to work in and through my life. I’m open to it all – with a little fear and a lot of HOPE!!

Please, I invite YOU on this journey with me!! I will be using this site as an area to share thoughts, stories, and travel adventures through the lens of a camera or words on a paper.

In the chance you feel inclined, I will also be updating my travels and ways in which to support financially, with materials/supplies needed for mission tasks, or through prayer.
