Together, we can spread hope and love far and wide!

Reflection.

When many of us think of prayer we probably think of one individual speaking, the aroma in the room being quiet, heads bowed and hands folded....

Well let me introduce y'all to "Thai prayer" - it's loud, it's proud, and it's in unison. The common practice in Thailand when prompting prayer is for everyone to outbreak and pray aloud together! Yes, like at one time!! We were informed that this practice is less intimidating to many, provides the opportunity for everyone to speak & not feel silence, and truly emphasizes the power of prayer. Zoe missionaries also informed us that specifically at Zoe, this style of prayer dissolves pressured moments of quietness in a room which many in their care (rescued children from human trafficking) may find as triggers to past traumas.
Hands are still lifted, heads are still bowed or raised...but let me tell you, it is loud!!

What I personally learned from Thai Prayer...it's all about perspective.

Whether in a crowd, small group, or alone in a room, don't let worry and anxiousness prohibit you from prayer. Don't let fear take hold - "will I say the right thing?, "I don't want to stumble over my words"..... instead conquer with courage and allow God to take hold of your thoughts and words Stepping into prayer with courage means never passing by an an opportunity for God to speak to you and through you. It's an opportunity to bless those in your presence, thanks be to God!

Requests

Day 01-03

Psalm 139:9-10

As we chase flights for nearly two days and spend close to 22 hours in the clouds. Praying for rest, wisdom as we prepare our mind & heart, and safe travels as we make our way across the globe.

Day 04

John 15:12

The Zoe Thailand Team & Family consists of 118 adult staff,(missionaries, house parents, teachers, and rescue & support) 64 kids that call Zoe home, and 41 bible college students training to be pastors or missionaries. Praying that our outreach planning & preparation goes well. Praying we are also able to retain a few Thai phrases to use when connecting with others.

Day 06

Matthew 5:16

Today is Sports Day!!!
Once a year Zoe hosts a special event full of all kinds of activities. We will have the opportunity to be the ultimately cheerleader, join in on some games, and simply laugh and be part of the fun! Praying that as we serve, God's light shines brightly in us. Pray that we would be humble, yet confident as we make ourselves fully available to God! Also, wouldn't hurt to pray for an injury free day! :)

Day 08

John 3:16-17

Outreach Day!!

Praying hearts would be open to the Gospel, that the plans of the enemy would be halted in Jesus' Name!! Pray that we would have favor with the people as we execute a large portion of our preparation - performing skits, playing games, singing songs, dancing, and sharing the Gospel. We expect a large crowd, so praying for management of the potential chaos and the ability to create meaningful connections.

Day 10

Galatians 5:25

As we hit the ground running after a day of travel, we transition into service at the Zoe City Center.

The City Center is a drop in house that serves Zoe Children's Home graduates who are over 18, but still need support and guidance as they integrate into the community. The City Center is also the headquarters for the prevention and rescue team when they are operating in the city.

Praying for quick adjustment and a boost of energy as we enter into our final leg of the Mission. Praying that we would be in step with the Spirit of God - that He would be seen in how we work, in how we speak, in how we act, and in how we love.

Day 12

Philippians 1:3-6

Today is our final reflection and the day we say farewell to our Zoe Family! We will meet back at the Children's Home to debrief, give Glory to God for all the incredible opportunities, and say goodbye to those we've grown to care for! May we be reminded of the hope we have as members of the family of God. We may not know when we'll cross paths again, however some day we will see each other and spend eternity together!

Praying we speak up with any words of encouragement that the Holy Spirit gives us for the missionaries and staff. Praying that we would be open to any words they have for us. Praying we would each be used to strengthen one another's faith!

Ongoing Prayers...

for Zoe International

Praying for protection and strength for the staff, missionaries, children, and entire Zoe Family. Praying for God's leading to find children who are waiting to be rescued. Praying for complete healing and restoration for those God has placed in Zoe's care. Praying for revival!

Day 03

Isaiah 6:8

Settling into our living quarters, meeting missionaries, and partaking in training. We don't want to simply see what God is doing in Thailand, we want to JOIN IN!! Praying we remain alert & awake, ready to hear God directing us.

Day 05

Psalm 34:3

Our first day at the Zoe Children's Home!! We will be spending the day interacting with the youth in their daily activities. We will also have some special time to praise & worship with the whole Zoe Family. Praying against distractions and for opened doors and powerful encounter with the Presence of God.

Day 07

Mark 16:15

Bright and early, we begin the track on a road less travel from Chiang Mai, south, to the town of Mae Sot to participate in outreach. During this time, we will have the incredible opportunity to share the Gospel and educate the vulnerable about human trafficking. We invite you to join us in pray for safety and smooth travels, and for our team to remain refreshed and healthy. Praying for God's protection over us and the vulnerable communities we meet. Praying for wisdom over the team to deliver a message that resonates with the hearts of the villagers.

Day 09

Psalm 91:11-12

Short trip....bittersweet as we pack up and bid farewell to our new friends. As we make the trip back to Chiang Mai, we pray that the seeds of truth were planted in the hearts and minds of the students and adults we met in Mae Sot! We pray for cultivation and growth of deep roots that bear fruit within the villages. We ask God to graciously guard them from the enemy.

Day 11

Matthew 5:13-16

This is the day where we have the opportunity to bless the Zoe Family for Thanksgiving! We will also get to spend some time exploring Chiang Mai -participating in a food tour and spending the evening in the city bazaar. Praying for a day of fun and togetherness as we enjoy good company! Praying for our natural selves as we may be tired and missing home; may we be reminded to depend on God's strength and not our own!

Day 13-15

Proverbs 11:25

We are headed home!!
At this point we have no idea what day it is, what time zone we are in, and whether it is breakfast or dinner! Praying our travels go smoothly and that we can rest on the journey home! Praying we are able to take this experience and be changed!! May we listen to God's guidance of the "what's next"...
